Word for the World Ministries (NPC) is missional ministry based in the West Rand of Johannesburg, South Africa that is headed up by Pastors Hein and Alta Strauss.
Over the years Pastors Hein and Alta Strauss have ministered across South Africa, on various platforms, to multitudes of people, different cultures and various settings. This has developed a particular skill set that they invest back into the lives of those whom God has entrusted to them for shepherding and discipleship. They have a grand vision and no shortage of creative capabilities and innovative ideas and continuously strive to be at the forefront of progress while staying true to their core values and beliefs that are Bible-based, Christ-centred and Spirit-led.
Word For The World Ministries NPC is committed to pursuing the goals set out within the Cape Town Commitment (Please use the link to read the document): https://www.lausanne.org/content/ctc/ctcommitment
The Gospel message of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ is at the centre of all the ministry’s undertakings. Our motto is “Winning Souls, Changing Lives and Empowering People.”
“There is power in God’s Gospel beyond description” Charles Spurgeon. Our soul winning campaigns are generally conducted by means of Gospel Crusades. Word For The World Ministries NPC partners with local churches to facilitate successful campaigns. We have never and will never misuse our crusades to plant churches unless the objective has been stated clearly and the goals of the campaign have been communicated with all invested partners.
Our great passion is the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is central to everything we do and believe. There is no greater message of love and hope than this, and it is by far the most powerful liberating message that has led to the greatest liberation movement in the history of mankind. We consider it an honor to respond with action to the Great Commission of Christ our Lord.
Love is a verb. Jesus, when asked, proclaimed that the two greatest commandments were that we are to love God and love our neighbors. We have great compassion for those in need and believe that we have a social responsibility to make the difference that others are praying for. We may not change the world by helping where we can, but we would have changed the world for those whom we have helped. “For it is giving that we receive” Francis of Assisi.
When people are empowered, they have a greater sense of purpose and, in general, make better decisions. Throughout Scripture is clear that God has a plan for every life and a purpose for every person. Therefore, through inspirational Bible based teaching and empowering information, we seek to encourage, motivate and embolden others to realize their God given potential, and to add value to society in general. “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” Maimonides.
Sunday Church Service
After two years of prayer, Word For The World Ministries NPC, by the grace of God, is in the process of planting a church. More information about this exciting development will follow soon. Glory be to God!
Statement of Faith
God Loves everybody, God is Love.”Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love” 1 John 4:8 ESV.
We believe that God divinely inspired the writing of the Bible, both the Old and the New Testament by the Holy Spirit. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2 Timothy 3:16.
We believe in one God who has revealed Himself in three persons throughout history. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7; Deuteronomy 4:35, 33:27; Isaiah 40:28, 45:5; Mark 12:29; 1 Corinthians 8:4; 1Timothy 2:5; Jeremiah 10:10; 1 Thessalonians 1:9; Psalm 90:2; Romans 16:26) God the Father (John 1:18, 5:18, 6:45; Acts 2:33; Romans 15:6; 1 Corinthians 1:3, 8:6, 15:24) Jesus is God (John 1:1-2,14, 10:30; Colossians 1:17) The Holy Spirit is God (John 14:16-17,26, 15:26, 16:7,13,14; 1 Corinthians 6:19, 12:8-11; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Luke 1:35) The Holy Trinity (Genesis 1:25; Matthew 3:16-17)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the prophesied Messiah who was born through the Virgin Mary and that His conception was through a divine act of grace, as God Himself became flesh (Gen 3:15; Isaiah 9:6-7; Matt 14:33, 16:16; 2 Corinthians 1:9,19; Galatians 4:4; Hebrews 2:17; 5:2, 4:14; 1 John 4:9,15-16; John 1:1,10:18; Colossians 2:9; Romans 5:8; John 8:58).
We believe in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as is stated in Scripture.
We believe that all men have sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23) and as sin entered the world through the action of Adam in the Garden of Eden. God had to make a way that man might once again enter into His presence, we believe that the way is Jesus Christ (Acts 5:30-32; Romans 3:10-12,5:8, 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-8).
We believe that there is no other way by which a man can be saved, other than through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). “Jesus said unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
We believe that the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was the fulfillment of Bible prophecy and that He gave and dedicated His life to all of mankind, in the most unselfish act of love through sacrifice, that can never be equaled (1 John 5:9-13; 2 John 1:3; Romans 1:4; 1 Peter 2:24).
We believe that Jesus Christ paid with His life in order that all of mankind who accept this ultimate gift of salvation would be saved (Romans 5:1, 10:13; Acts 8:32).
We believe that a person must be born again in order to receive salvation. “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” John 3:3.
We believe in praying for the sick and suffering that they may be healed in the name of Jesus (James 5:13-15; 1 Peter 2:24).
We believe that the Great Commission of Jesus Christ is as applicable today as it was when He first gave the command.“And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” Matthew 28:18–20.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and His constant involvement in the life of believers (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; Acts 1:2,5,8, 2:4,33,38, 8:15-19; Romans 8:26-27).
We believe in the five fold ministry gifts given by God to the Church, namely Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers are for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry and for the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11).
We believe that it is God’s desire that all of mankind should be saved, but that it is mankind, through the rejection of salvation through Jesus Christ, that chooses by default not to be saved (John 3:16-17).
We believe that good works cannot give you a right to eternal life, but that this is only possible through the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:15; Ephesians 2:8; Romans 5:1).
We believe that good works (James 2: 18 – 26) are not man’s physical effort to gain God’s acceptance, but that the good works is a manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit evident in life of born again believers, as they live out their religious conviction based on Biblical truth (Galatians 5:22; Ephesians 5:9; James 1:27).
We believe in water baptism by emersion, after a person has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We do not believe in adult baptism, but in believers baptism (Acts 2:38-43, 8:12, 8: 27-40, 10:44-48, 16:14-15, 18:8, 19:1-5).
We believe that sin, as it is described throughout the Bible, is sin and that any attempt to justify the practice sin is heresy. As God said: “be holy because I am holy” (Leviticus 11:44-45, 19:2, 20:7, 20:26, 21:8; 1Peter 1:16).
We believe that every person has access through a life of prayer to God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 6:6-7, 26:41; Luke 5:15-16, 6:12, 18:1; John 15:7; Ephesians 6:18; 2 Corinthians 7:14; Jeremiah 29:13; Mark 11:24; Psalm 34:17, 91:15; 1 John 5:14).
“For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed our message?” So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ” Romans 10:13-17 NLT.
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 28:18-19 NIV.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” Acts 1:8 NIV.
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” 1 Peter 3:15 NIV.
